Toast and Instacart announced a partnership Feb. 10, uniting the restaurant management software company with the grocery delivery leader to streamline operations for businesses throughout the U.S.

The collaboration allows retailers to conveniently onboard and sync brick-and-mortar inventory to the Instacart Marketplace, according to a Feb. 10 press release. Additionally, business-to-business service provider Instacart Business became a procurement partner for Toast restaurant locations, offering same-day delivery of essentials such as fresh produce and pantry staples, often addressing last-minute needs within an hour. 

“This partnership brings together two platforms that play complementary roles in how retailers and restaurants operate and grow,” Ryan Hamburger, vice president of commercial partnerships at Instacart, said in a release. “We’re looking forward to expanding our breadth of retailers by welcoming Toast’s retail partners to the Instacart Marketplace and giving Toast restaurants access to our marketplace via Instacart Business for a fast and flexible way to source produce and other essentials to meet last-minute needs.”

In addition to streamlined onboarding, the partnership provides Toast retail customers with seamless ongoing management, creating an omnichannel engine for food and beverage retailers. Leveraging data from Toast’s platform, the collaboration provides catalog and inventory alignment, supporting inventory updates to assist merchants in keeping online availability in line with in-store stock.
