Snap Kitchen, the meal delivery company that carved a diet-friendly niche, is going national. The Austin-based company will now ship dietitian-created meals for Keto, Paleo, low-carb and other diets nationwide. Prior to the move, customers could only pick up or order in Austin, Houston, Dallas and Philadelphia.
Under the new program, customers can order one of the 36 menu options in meal boxes of six or 12 meals. The fresh, never frozen meals arrive within two days and can go into the freezer until ready to heat and serve.
The company was the only regional player named one of USA Today’s 10 best meal delivery services and can now tap into a much greater audience of diet-conscious busy people.
So far, there’s no word on how much shipping costs or how a subscription will work with nationwide delivery, but stay tuned to Food On Demand for updates as the national program rolls out.
One thing the company noted was that it will continue its focus on sustainability. Snap Kitchen uses compostable containers and recyclable boxes and reusable inserts for the new direct-shipping option.
There’s a flat $12.99 shipping fee for both the 6 and 12 meal boxes (delivered by FedEx).
