Taco Bell is shaking up the traditional drive-thru experience, by giving customers the opportunity to appear in its 2025 Super Bowl commercial.

It’s all part of Taco Bell’s Live Más Drive-Thru Cams campaign. At select locations, Taco Bell Rewards members can open the app, log in, and go through the drive-thru as usual. At the end, they can scan a QR code and pose, and the camera will snap six photos of the car’s driver and passenger sides.

Afterwards, two digital photo strips will be sent to customers’ Taco Bell Rewards email, and customers can opt-in for a chance to be featured in the Big Game ad during the Super Bowl’s third quarter.

Customer’s photos may appear in Taco Bell’s 2025 Super Bowl commercial ad.

“Every day in our drive-thrus, we see moments that are uniquely ‘our fans’—the moments, memories, and energy that make Taco Bell who we are,” said Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery in a statement.

He added that’s why they are putting celebrities on the sidelines for this promotion.

The photo booths will be available from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at participating locations for a limited time. This includes:

  • Dec. 10 – 12: 310 Big Mac Drive, Cookeville, TN
  • Dec. 11 – 13: 15797 JFK Blvd, Houston, TX
  • Dec. 17 – 19: 116 W Rea Rd, Wauchula, FL

Locations in Los Angeles and Middleburg Heights, OH, have already passed.

This comes as drive-thrus continue to innovate within the quick-service industry. A prime example is Taco Bell’s “Defy” model, which has four lanes and a custom lift system that sends orders to cars below from a kitchen above. And is also seen in the ongoing adoption of voice AI  technology in many quick-service restaurants.
