Sunfly Sips and Snacks, a new off-premises-focused restaurant brand marketed as combining the creativity of a tropical cocktail bar with the convenience of a drive-thru and the escapism of a tiki bar, is looking to capitalize on a slew of consumer trends at its first location.

The flagship Sunfly location opened October 16 in The Colony, Texas, bringing global flavors, trendy beverages, health-conscious menu items and “bakery-caliber ingredients” together for drink-and-snack pairings that generally total slightly above $10, according to an October 8 press release. A second location is in development and slated to open soon in nearby Frisco, Texas, with plans to expand across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Sunfly’s flagship location opened October 16, with plans to expand throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“Sunfly grew out of our passion for creating great drinks,” co-founder Matt Bailey said in a press release. “John Brennan, my business partner, and I wanted to bring the creativity and quality of our full-service restaurants to a fast, approachable, yet elevated drive-thru experience.”

The concept aims to tap into the growing cold-beverage market. According to beverage market analysis from Technomic, the foodservice nonalcoholic beverage market reached $264.1 billion last year, even as overall volume (in gallons) declined by 0.6 percent.

Cold beverages emerged as a primary growth driver, with spending up 3.4 percent, outpacing the 1.2 percent increase in spending on hot beverages. The Technomic report noted that the result is cold beverages “fundamentally reshaping consumption patterns and operator strategies across all segments.”

Sunfly’s menu includes cold-pressed juice, matcha and nitro cold brew with options to add enhancements like cold foam or fruit purees. Drinks range from strawberry basil and blueberry coconut lemonades to dessert-inspired matcha and cold brew.

Sunfly’s menu overlaps with preferences identified in Keurig Dr Pepper’s 2026 State of Beverages Report. Among consumers ages 13–29, 81 percent favored fruity or juicy options, 75 percent sweet or indulgent choices, and 72 percent citrus-forward flavors.

“Younger consumers don’t think in terms of a single ‘go-to’ drink anymore,” Katie Webb, Keurig Dr Pepper’s senior vice president of marketing transformation, innovation and insights, said in a press release. “Younger generations are exploring more unique flavors, switching between beverages throughout the day and seeking options that can balance both function and feel-good.”

The new DFW-area drive-thru brand emphasized the $10 mark as a rough target for beverage and snack pairings. Most of its 16-ounce drinks cost between $5.50 and $7.

According to Aegera’s World Coffee Port’s Project Café USA 2026 report, the U.S. branded coffee shop market has reached $58.5 billion in total value, up 6.6 percent over the last 12 months. The average 16-ounce latte came in at $5.19, up 2.6 percent from the previous year.

To encourage repeat visits, Sunfly is running Cabana Club, a 15-week promotion featuring limited-edition weekly giveaways tied to its signature drinks.
