Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the wildfires that have ravaged parts of Southern California. The tragedy has claimed lives, destroyed homes and businesses, and left countless families struggling to recover.

The Los Angeles food scene has been particularly hard-hit. In the midst of the crisis, many local groups and restaurants have stepped up to provide assistance.

Local restaurants rally

Restaurants like Yeastie Boys Bagels, Cafe Tropical, Din Tai Fung, Fatburger and Dog Haus—to name just a few—have all joined in to help by offering free meals to first responders and evacuees. The LA Times and The Hollywood Reporter are keeping updated lists of restaurants involved in these efforts.

World Central Kitchen lends a hand

Chef José Andrés and his nonprofit, World Central Kitchen (WCK), have been on the frontlines of wildfire relief. WCK has set up multiple distribution sites across the region, providing hot meals to those affected by the fires. They are also collaborating with local food trucks.

For more information on meal distribution sites, visit WCK Meal Locations in California.

In addition to restaurants, delivery services have announced aid. DoorDash has waived delivery fees on all orders in the county. It has also pledged to donate $1 for every order placed in LA County, up to $1 million.

How to donate

Financial contributions are vital to continuing relief efforts. There are many ways to donate, and here are just a few options:

World Central Kitchen and the Los Angeles Food Bank are accepting direct donations to fund their efforts.

Restaurants Care is seeking donations to help displaced food workers and others affected by the fires.

The California Restaurant Association has established a relief fund to support restaurants who have lost their livelihoods due to the fires. To donate, visit here or text “LAFIRES” to 71777.

GoFundMe has created a landing page to support those impacted by the wildfires. Donations can be made to the Wildfire Relief Fund 2025 or to verified fundraisers set up by families, businesses, and individuals in the Los Angeles area.
