Dollar General Corporation, the company behind the nation’s most abundant retailer with more than 20,000 locations across 48 states, is starting 2026 by leaning further into accessibility for off-premises shoppers.

The Tennessee-based general store giant announced Jan. 22 that it is expanding the reach and capability of myDG, the company’s same-day delivery service available through the Dollar General app and website.

Approximately 75 percent of Americans live within five miles of a Dollar General store, meaning the company is poised to usher in same-day delivery to many communities with otherwise limited options. According to a Jan. 22 press release, myDG is available in more than 17,000 stores.

“myDG Delivery is helping bridge the digital gap by extending same‑day delivery to rural communities nationwide,” Lydia Thacher, Dollar General’s vice president of digital commerce, said in a statement. “We are proud to offer a service that not only brings convenience to our existing customers but also introduces new customers to the Dollar General brand through a frictionless digital experience.”

The myDG expansion announcement accompanied a promotion offering free delivery through the service using their account between Jan. 20 and Feb. 28. With an additional $1 “ASAP fee”, customers can expedite their orders to just one hour or less.

Dollar General’s delivery expansion accompanies a current partnership with DoorDash serving more than 18,000 stores, as well as a recently launched collaboration with Uber Eats available from upwards of 17,000 stores.

In addition to extending same-day delivery accessibility nationwide, the myDG expansion also strengthens the company’s digital ecosystem. The Dollar General app boasts more than 7,000,000 monthly active users. As more customers engage with the app, website and delivery services, the company gains access to greater guest personalization, higher returns for brand partners and access to an audience of more than 90,000,000 addressable shopper profiles.

The push toward same-day delivery comes at the start of a fiscal year in which Dollar General outlined plans to open about 450 U.S. locations and another 10 stores in Mexico. According to a December 2025 release, the company anticipates remodeling about 4,250 stores and relocating about 20 stores.
