For consumers who feel sky high after enjoying a delivered meal, there’s now a promotion for you. Starting in the spring, customers can earn Delta SkyMiles when they order food from Uber Eats, or when they order a ride from Uber.

This new high-altitude partnership is simple to access; customers just link their accounts. Uber Eats, customers will earn one mile per dollar spent on restaurant or grocery orders of at least $40. Airport rides in an UberX will net one mile per dollar spent, two miles for every dollar spent on premium rides, and three miles per dollar on Uber Reserve trips.

Delta had partnered with Lyft for eight years, and evidently felt eight was enough.

This comes at a time when precocious partnerships are all the rage. Last year, DoorDash started offering a free subscription to the streaming service Max to DashPass members. GrubHub partnered with My Place Hotels for food delivery to guests. Uber rolled out a collaboration with Instacart to allow restaurant orders within the Instacart app.

More than 200 million people flew Delta in 2024 and Uber now has a seat right next to them.

“With a record number of travelers taking to the skies, we’re focused on helping to make airport travel as efficient, affordable, and effortless as possible,” said Dara Khosrowshani, CEO of Uber. The company noted that 15 percent of its rides begin or end at an airport.

“Delta is bringing together innovative technologies and partnerships to create a connected travel experience from start to finish. This creates more choice for customers to get to their destination in a way that works best for them,” said Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta.

The partnership will start in the spring. Customers can sign up now for a waitlist to receive updates.
