Inspire Brands, parent company of Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin Donuts, and others, has bought the delivery software platform Vromo.

The move is part of a strategic plan to make delivery channels more profitable. In an email to Food On Demand, a spokesperson confirmed the sale, adding that the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

This marks the first company acquisition Inspire Brands has completed since purchasing Dunkin’ Brands Group for $11.3 billion in 2020.

Vromo serves as a delivery management software, helping brands operate delivery at scale while providing the end customer with branded delivery tracking.

Vromo serves as a delivery management software, helping brands operate delivery at scale while providing the end customer with branded delivery tracking. It aids in managing both in-house delivery fleets and third-party delivery drivers with features such as real-time order tracking, automated dispatch and analytics.

The acquisition comes as restaurant companies look to solutions for lowering costs for delivery and owning the customer journey.

While brands often integrate with delivery software platforms, actually buying tech vendors is not as common.  However, there have been industry shifts in which brands are either purchasing the technology or building it themselves.

Yum Brands, for example, acquired Dragontail Systems in 2021. Additionally, last year, Wingstop reported plans to stop using online ordering tech firm Olo and instead utilize its own in-house system that’s currently in development.
