Less than two months into 2026, a trend of big-name partnerships is beginning to emerge between leading third-party delivery platforms and popular temporary housing marketplaces.
In January, Airbnb launched a pilot program with Instacart, allowing guests in select markets to remotely arrange for their pantries to be stocked up to three weeks before check-in. A somewhat similar initiative followed just over a month later when Gopuff, a 3PD specializing in “instant” deliveries — orders completed in as little as 15 minutes —, announced a partnership with flexible-stay apartment platform Landing in mid-February.
While the partnerships vary considerably in services available and accompanying incentives for guests, the collaborations may foreshadow a larger trend for delivery and temporary housing platforms.
As a result of the recently announced partnership, Landing guests staying in more than 2,500 apartments across 42 U.S. markets have access to exclusive savings on Gopuff orders, according to a Feb. 19 press release. Landing guests will receive 60 percent off their first Gopuff order and 10 percent off subsequent orders, redeemable during their stay at eligible properties.
“Our goal is to make every Landing stay feel effortless and familiar from the moment guests arrive and throughout their stay – whether it’s a few days, a few months, or a few years,” Marcus Higgins, Landing’s president and chief operating officer, said in a press release. “Partnering with Gopuff allows us to deliver meaningful, in-the-moment convenience when guests need it most. Whether they’re ordering a bottle of bubbly on their first night, shopping for their weekly groceries, or just want snacks for a quiet night in, Gopuff helps Landing guests feel at home, wherever they are.”
Landing specializes in fully furnished, flexible-lease apartments, with more than 5,000 available units across more than 250 cities, according to the company’s website. Meanwhile, Airbnb’s official site reports that it has upwards of nine million active listings globally across more than 150,000 towns and cities.
The partnerships demonstrate different approaches to incentivizing the delivery services.
While Landing guests receive exclusive discounts through Gopuff, the Airbnb program incentivizes hosts with $100 after their first kitchen stocking order is completed, plus an additional $25 for each order. Participating Airbnb hosts also receive three complimentary months of Instacart+, a membership program priced at $10 per month that offers exclusive benefits, including $0 delivery fees on eligible orders.
The Airbnb-Instacart pilot program started Jan. 5 and runs through April 4; pilot cities include Phoenix, Arizona; Orlando, Florida; and Los Angeles, California. The Landing-Gopuff announcement affected a broader array of communities, with no stated pilot period or listed end date for the exclusive discounts.
While the trend of temporary housing platforms uniting with 3PD services is picking up steam in 2026, similar initiatives between delivery providers and hospitality firms have existed for years. Grubhub and Hilton, for example, announced in late 2024 an effort to bring on-demand food, grocery, and convenience item delivery to over 2,600 hotels across the Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, and Spark by Hilton brands.
Still, the opportunity for further partnerships in the short- and mid-term stay industry remains, as popular vacation rental platforms like Vrbo and HomeToGo have not announced 3PD partners for food and grocery delivery.
