Canada delivery diners will soon have more choices thanks to a partnership between U.S.-based C3 and Canada’s Gzooh Kitchens, a ghost kitchen provider. The partnership will bring C3’s brands, including Umami Burger and Sam’s Crispy Chicken, to Canada for the first time, starting in Alberta.

Launching this month, the move will introduce C3’s virtual brands to Alberta, starting in Edmonton and Calgary. C3 has plans to expand the launch to 100+ brand locations throughout Canada within the next year.

The partnership between C3 and Gzooh Kitchens extends C3’s mission of building a community around its restaurant brands. During its recent period of rapid growth, C3 has expanded to more than 800 “digital kitchens” in the United States, with more than 1,200 employees.

Alberta-based Gzooh Kitchens is one of the fastest-growing virtual kitchen brand providers offering virtual kitchen concepts that enable food entrepreneurs to launch their virtual kitchen with minimal effort and resources. With more than 20 virtual kitchen brands of its own, Gzooh Kitchens help food businesses expand by selling several international food concepts from a single kitchen. The Gzooh team uses extensive market data to provide solutions that are eco-friendly and reduce food wastage. Other Gzooh Kitchens partners include Barilla Pasta and Beyond Meat.

According to both companies, the deal between C3 and Gzooh Kitchens provides a sizable opportunity for expanding kitchen utilization capacity and generating additional revenue per kitchen outlet. The partnership also brings acclaimed Chef Alvin Cailan to Canada with his revamped menu for Umami Burger. Coined “America’s Best Burger” by GQ Magazine, Umami Burger recently unveiled a completely revamped and revitalized menu by celebrated Chef Alvin Cailan, host of The Burger Show on YouTube.

Commenting on the partnership, C3 founder and CEO Sam Nazarian said, “We are thrilled to partner with Gzooh Kitchens to bring C3’s popular menus and digital restaurant brands to Canada. When looking to expand internationally, we knew Gzooh Kitchens would be the perfect partner to bring our brands to Canada.”

Guru Singh, founder and CEO of Gzooh Kitchens, said his company is “equally excited to collaborate with C3. We’re excited to bring C3’s popular brands to Canada. Joining C3, we look forward to offering guests unmatched food quality and a distinctive dining experience.”

Umami Burger and Sam’s Crispy Chicken are currently live in Edmonton and with plans to open in Calgary next month. Ordering is available via delivery, 6 PM to 3 AM, on Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes.
