Grubhub is teaming up with Instacart to bring a massive grocery catalog to its app and website.
The move gives Grubhub a big boost in grocery selection. Instacart works with more than 1,800 national, regional, and local grocers across North America.

Grubhub customers can now order groceries through Instacart directly in the app, with Instacart handling fulfillment and delivery.
Grubhub customers can now order groceries through Instacart right on the app. Instacart will handle the picking and delivery. The new options will appear under the Grocery tab.
“This partnership marks an exciting step forward for Grubhub,” said Howard Migdal, CEO of Grubhub, in a statement. “With nearly 20 million customers and access to over 415,000 restaurants, we’re now expanding our platform to include groceries powered by Instacart—delivering an unmatched level of choice and value.”
It’s the latest in a string of announcements from Grubhub since it was acquired by Wonder earlier this year.
Wonder, founded by Marc Lore, operates multiconcept food halls in over 50 locations, primarily on the East Coast.

Grubhub has lagged behind DoorDash and Uber Eats in grocery delivery, both of which already partner with major grocers like Kroger and Walmart. Instacart also works with those chains, so the deal broadens its reach.
“With our unmatched selection of grocers and our leading technology and fulfillment capabilities, we’re helping Grubhub expand its platform and reach,” said Ryan Hamburger, vice president of commercial partnerships at Instacart.
Since the acquisition, Grubhub has brought local restaurants into the Wonder app and taken its delivery robots beyond college campuses.
Meanwhile, Instacart has been growing its own delivery footprint. Last year, it partnered with Uber Eats to offer restaurant delivery through the Instacart app.
