With the rise of agentic ordering and AI discovery comes increased value of restaurant reviews, a common source of information for chatbots asked about foodservice operations.
That trend inspired Marqii Review Generation, a tool announced July 21 from hospitality-focused discovery platform Marqii. Launched in partnership with guest engagement software system Thanx, the feature automatically triggers SMS requests for reviews to guests immediately after they order.
“I’m always looking for tools that deliver real results for my clients without adding to their workload, and Review Generation checks both boxes,” Stacey Kane, chief marketing officer, said in a release. “Asking for a review at exactly the right moment, right after a great ordering experience, is something every brand should be doing. Marqii has made it completely automatic.”
Leading AI models (Google Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Perplexity) are significantly more likely to cite reviews and information from social media platforms when responding to prompts about foodservice operations than inquiries about the retail, finance or healthcare spaces, according to 2025 AI discovery research analyzing 1.6 million generated responses from Yext. The findings suggest reputation and user-generated content play a larger role for restaurants than other industries.
After orders are submitted, either in-store or digitally, Review Generation invites guests to leave a review on Google, Facebook, TripAdvisor or Marqii First Party Reviews. Resulting reviews then populate Marqii’s dashboard for analysis and/or response from operators.
“Marqii is focused on helping our restaurant partners be found and chosen by more guests every day,” Avi Goren, Marqii co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “By introducing Review Generation, we don’t just help restaurants improve their search performance. We give operators full control over their entire review process, from generation through to response and analysis.”
While Marqii Review Generator’s initial launch is in collaboration with Thanx, the discovery platform boasts several dozen point-of-sale system integrations and more than 15,000 hospitality industry partners.
“A restaurant’s reputation is only as complete as the data feeding it; most systems only capture the digital order, missing the majority of revenue which still happens in person,” Zach Goldstein, Thanx founder and CEO, said in a press release. “Thanx was built to treat every channel as one guest relationship, so the order at the counter and the order on the app carry equally into Marqii. Restaurants win when best-in-class systems work seamlessly together.”
