Domino’s has entered into a partnership with DoorDash. The pizza giant will leverage DoorDash’s marketplace for ordering while continuing its delivery service through its own drivers.
The pilot program is already underway in select locations, with a nationwide rollout set for May, followed by a launch across Canada later in 2025.
While Domino’s has made it clear that it will continue to use its own drivers for deliveries, DoorDash users can now order from their local Domino’s store through the DoorDash app. The GPS tracking system is fully integrated, allowing customers to track their delivery.
This move comes as competition intensifies among third-party delivery providers. Domino’s was one of the last major pizza chains to partner with third-party delivery services. In 2023, the company had an exclusive partnership with Uber Eats.
A move away from Uber Eats exclusivity
A Domino’s spokesperson confirmed that the exclusive partnership with Uber Eats will end on May 1. However, they are not going exclusive with DoorDash and will still use the Uber Eats marketplace.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but this move signals a shift in strategy as Domino’s aims to reach more customers, many of whom are loyal to specific apps.
According to Statista, DoorDash has 67 percent of the U.S. market share, while Uber Eats has 24 percent.
“The ability to connect seamlessly with DoorDash customers means more sales for Domino’s stores, while efficiently leveraging our brand’s robust delivery network. Tapping into incremental customers, particularly in suburban and rural markets, is a meaningful opportunity for Domino’s, as our brand continues to open stores nationwide,” said Joe Jordan, Domino’s chief operating officer and president, in a statement.
Domino’s orders will be available to subscribers of DashPass, DoorDash’s subscription program, which offers $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on orders over $12. Its loyalty program, Domino’s Rewards, will only be available through Domino’s own app and website.
“By joining forces, we’re offering customers a new choice in the rapidly growing pizza category,” said Prabir Adarkar, president and chief operating officer at DoorDash, in a statement.
