Swipe Savvy has acquired GiftAMeal, bringing the photo-based donation platform into its restaurant customer engagement and loyalty offering.
GiftAMeal allows diners to scan a QR code, take a photo and trigger a meal donation to a local food bank, then share it on social media to generate additional meals, with restaurants funding the contributions. Swipe Savvy, meanwhile, provides restaurant brands with loyalty, payment and analytics tools.
The acquisition will bring GiftAMeal’s donation flow into Swipe Savvy’s Points for Purpose program, which lets customers support nonprofits through everyday purchases.
For Andrew Glantz, founder and CEO of GiftAMeal, the fit came down to Swipe Savvy’s understanding of both restaurant performance and community impact.

“Swipe Savvy immediately understood the value GiftAMeal brings to restaurants and their communities,” Glantz said. “They saw both sides of that equation and how powerful it can be at scale, and they were focused on helping make that scale possible. Just as importantly, they were committed to ensuring no disruption for our partner restaurants, users, or food banks, which was a key priority for us.”
GiftAMeal has already shown measurable restaurant-level results. Guests who use the platform visit 39 percent more often, spend 20 percent more per order and tip 32 percent more per visit, according to the company. The platform is used across more than 1,200 restaurant locations in 46 states and has helped provide nearly 3 million meals through 185 local food banks.
Glantz said the biggest unlock with Swipe Savvy is the ability to scale.
“We’ve already seen strong results, and this allows us to bring that to many more locations, much faster. It also creates opportunities to integrate more directly into loyalty and engagement platforms, so social impact becomes part of the everyday guest experience rather than a separate initiative. For restaurants, that means a more differentiated way to build loyalty and connect with guests in a way that drives repeat visits.”
GiftAMeal will continue operating as a standalone offering while becoming part of Swipe Savvy’s platform. Existing restaurant partners will not see changes to service.

“GiftAMeal has proven that doing good and driving growth go hand-in-hand,” said Jason Mayoral, CEO of Swipe Savvy in a statement. “Their platform creates a genuine emotional connection between guests and the restaurants they love. Together, we’re excited to give brands new ways to reward customers not just for what they spend, but for the impact they help create.”
Glantz will step into a vice president of strategic partnerships role, where he’ll continue leading GiftAMeal’s growth while supporting Swipe Savvy’s expansion.
“That includes building and scaling restaurant and food tech partnerships, working with brands on rollout strategies, and helping integrate GiftAMeal more deeply into how restaurants approach guest engagement and loyalty,” said Glantz.
