Deliverect has partnered with Hy-Vee to expand the supermarket chain’s digital food ordering.

The joint venture is expected to help Hy-Vee make data-driven decisions about their menu offerings as well as enhance customer experience in their Fast and Fresh Market Grille Express stations.

Hy-Vee currently has more than 570 business units in nine Midwestern states. Deliverect is used by more than 50,000 establishments including the likes of Burger King and Little Caesars.

Hy-Vee will integrate Deliverect into each of their Fast and Fresh Market Grille Express stations. These convenience stores have 190 locations in the Midwest. Deliverect will allow the stores to automate the order creation process, eliminating the need for manual meal and snack order entries.

Jennifer Lambert, Senior Vice President of IT Strategy and Planning for Hy-Vee, said it is important for them to meet busy consumers where they are.

“Deliverect’s innovative solutions have dramatically increased the speed of our curbside pickup service while providing us with key insights to keep our operations running smoothly and our customer happy. We look forward to seeing how this collaboration continues to evolve in the future,” Lambert said.

Convenience stores are in a period of transformation according to the National Association of Convenience stores. The food service category, including commissary, hot dispensed beverages, and prepared food, now makes up 26.9 percent of in-store sales.

This change has led to the necessity for delivery apps to meet consumer demands.

Noah Hayes, Americas Vice President at Deliverect, said that their solutions are designed to streamline operations for food service businesses.

“Convenience stores are at an exciting juncture as they begin to play alongside restaurants in the food delivery arena, and technology is necessary to make this shift successful,” Hayes said.

The collaboration between the two companies began in January 2024. Hy-Vee’s Fast & Fresh app was designed to use Deliverect’s order and menu management, offering an ordering experience similar to Uber Eats and DoorDash platforms.
