There’s an arms race going on among voice AI tech companies. The ones that with the most capabilities stand the best chance at getting a call from prized QSR operators. Vox AI recently completed a $8.7 fundraising round, bringing its total to $10 million, to round out its offering. It wants those calls.
Vox AI serves as a multilingual voice assistant, enabling customers to place drive-thru and mobile orders autonomously, while supporting staff. The company’s proposition to operators is simple: let us handle the things you want to offload.

Maurice Kroon, CEO and founder of Vox AI
“There are issues that aren’t really problems, like being out of stock on something or dealing with a machine that goes down,” said Maurice Kroon, CEO and founder of Vox AI, in an interview. “They may not require the attention of a manager if you have a proper AI system.”
That’s compelling for an operator who is maybe tired of dealing with indifferent staff. “An system doesn’t get tired or annoyed,” Kroon said.
Vox AI’s features include:
-
Fully autonomous, highly accurate drive-thru ordering with no human-in-the-loop during training or deployment.
-
Multilingual fluency, including more than 90 languages, which understands and adapts to regional dialects and menu synonyms.
-
Noise-adaptive voice models that self-optimize for ambient noise and location-specific building/outdoor acoustics.
-
Plug-and-play deployment that seamlessly integrates with existing restaurant tech stacks.
-
Mobile “order ahead” voice integration via restaurant apps and a real-time employee assist system that provides shift guidance, inventory alerts and hands-free support.
“Vox AI is pushing voice technology beyond generic natural language processing,” said Kroon. “We’re building a new industry standard for how guests interact with brands and how restaurant staff run locations.”
