Gopuff is giving its website a major overhaul, adding features that let customers see more of what happens behind the scenes when they place an order.
The new platform introduces live video from one of the company’s micro-fulfillment centers, real-time packing updates, and a redesigned storefront that adapts to each customer’s habits and location.
The refresh is built around personalization. Customers now see items based on their order history, what’s trending locally, and what’s actually in stock at their closest facility. The update is currently focused on desktop and mobile web, but some of the new features will expand to the app in the coming months.
Because Gopuff owns its inventory and operates its own warehouses, the company says it can show only what’s available in real time, eliminating substitutions and out-of-stock surprises.
Once an order is placed, the new interface tracks the process step by step. Customers can see the name of the employee packing their items, follow along as each product is scanned, and then get details about the delivery driver and even the make and model of their car. A live video feed from the warehouse adds another layer, giving a look at the fulfilment process as it happens.
Customers can also view trends in their city through local order data and a heatmap of nearby deliveries.
