Instacart is not a company that stands still. In May, it announced a deal with Uber Eats. And now it’s sharing that its futuristic Caper Carts, which allows consumers to use an interactive screen to track spending, check out by themselves, access coupons, receive personalized recommendation, and pursue gamification rewards, is rolling out in Missouri.
Caper Carts will be available in a Price Chopper Location in Parkville and McKeever’s Market & Eater in Lee’s Summit. The carts come equipped with AI, cameras, sensors, and a built-in scale for automatic recognition.
“Customers are increasingly choosing stores equipped with our Caper Carts, where they typically spend about 30 minutes shopping with the cart per visit,” said David McIntosh, vice president and general manager of Connected Stores at Instacart. “Caper Carts integrate smoothly into existing store operations and unlock incremental revenue streams for stores.”
Price Chopper joins ShopRite, Schnucks, and Geissler’s Supermarkets, whom have all rolled out Caper Carts.
