CookUnity, the chef-made meal delivery platform, has acquired Cookin, the operating system and platform for chefs to organize, market and scale their food businesses. The acquisition aims to give chefs access to higher earnings.
Since its founding, CookUnity has seen rapid growth, welcoming award-winning chefs like James Beard Award winner Esther Choi and Iron Chef Jose Garces to its roster. Now, with the integration of Cookin’s 1,500 creators operating across 40 U.S. States and 10 Canadian Provinces, CookUnity is empowering more chefs to build thriving businesses.
Cookin’s focus on professional home chefs and its hyperlocal approach also presents new opportunities. Chefs who use CookUnity’s platform will be able to diversify through Cookin’s à la carte and limited-time “drop” models, while Cookin’s chefs can leverage CookUnity’s extensive subscription model and a new benefit called Ingredients Club, the only offering that unlocks valuable technology and wholesale access to ingredients as part of CookUnity’s robust supply chain network.
By offering a platform for chefs to sell directly to consumers, the acquisition strengthens both brands’ commitment to supporting culinary entrepreneurs and empowering chefs to thrive in an evolving food landscape. Along with the acquisition, CookUnity plans to expand into Canada, marking the brand’s first international market.
CookUnity empowers chefs by managing logistics, packaging, and delivery, allowing chefs to focus on their craft and build commercially successful food businesses. With Cookin’s platform, chefs gain additional tools for business management, marketing, and direct-to-consumer sales, opening new avenues for income and growth.
“At CookUnity, our mission is to empower chefs and enhance the culinary experience for our customers,” said Mateo Marietti, founder and CEO of CookUnity, in a statement. “Acquiring Cookin is a significant step in accelerating our goal to create the world’s first and most comprehensive creator platform in the food sector. We’re not only providing chefs new opportunities for revenue but also establishing a dynamic chef-driven marketplace.”
