Fleat Network, a Florida-based delivery logistics startup, announced it will debut its “intelligent mobile retail platform” at the upcoming Food On Demand Conference in Chicago April 1st and 2nd. The company’s StreetLogic software combines automated delivery management with so-called “database intelligence” that allows restaurants and retail operators to reach customers wherever they are, including their homes.
“Third-party delivery services are stealing the soul from brick-and-mortar retailers,” said Patrick Fore, Fleat’s CEO and co-founder at a recent industry conference. “When retailers join their competitors on third-party delivery marketplaces like UberEats, Instacart and DoorDash, what may initially seem like a win is proving to be a very costly experience in every sense of the value equation.”
In recent months, Fleat has been conducting beta testing programs with restaurants in central Florida. The company is now using data from that test to launch larger national pilot programs. As part of its growth strategy, the company has formed alliances with what it calls “other visionaries” in the automotive technology sector.
Looking further ahead, Fleat hopes to launch a self-driving, fully electrified mobile storefront fleet of delivery vehicles.
“In a new dining era where ghost kitchens, pop-ups and on-demand service has introduced new conveniences to consumers, operators must find new ways to stay connected with their guests,” said Brittany Lyne, co-owner of Orlando’s Farm and Haus.
Farm and Haus’ website includes a notice to customers that it’s transitioning to “on-demand mobile storefront” that will deliver menu items from its brick-and-mortar cafe.
