Ordr, a Canadian-based mobile ordering and payment company for sports and entertainment venues, is expanding to the U.S.
The company has inked a number of partnerships with sports teams from Salt Lake City, Dallas and St. Louis to power in-seat ordering, delivery and payment solutions.
Via the Ordr app, attendees can order food, beverages and merchandise directly from their seat, or be notified when their order is ready for pick up at the nearest concession.
“Now fans can order a hotdog and a beer directly from their seats and never miss key moments,” said Evan Wain, COO and co-founder at Ordr. “New technologies, such as the Ordr app, are changing how we order food, beverage and merchandise at our favorite events, providing a better fan experience. As a result, we’re seeing enormous growth in the U.S. market right now.”
According to Ordr, venues leveraging the app show that 77 percent of total stadium orders made are for in-seat delivery, and that average check sizes increase by about 89 percent. This is fueled by the ability to streamline the ordering process, giving attendees the option to skip the concession lines and end-of-event merchandise rushes.
“Strategic collaborations turn every seat into a potential point-of-sale opportunity, providing a powerful way to boost overall stadium sales revenue,” said Wain.
The company anticipates announcing several other stadium integrations in the coming weeks.
Ordr is the latest company to offer in-seat ordering in U.S. stadiums. In March, Uber Eats began offering in-seat meal deliveries inside Yankee Stadium through its “Uber Eats at Venues” division. On demand delivery company ASAP also powers stadium ordering directly from seats through partnerships with the New York Giants, New York Jets and various others.
