DoorDash is expanding its heat-at-home meal kit offerings with Blue Apron.

The meal kit delivery service is now available in 11 markets, including major hubs like New York City via DashMart.

DashMart is DoorDash’s grocery store and warehouse service that sells a variety of meats, products, household items and more. The expansion with Blue Apron follows a successful pilot program launched in Philadelphia last year.

“These types of strategic partnerships are an important market opportunity for us to expand our reach and provide customers with access to our products without a subscription. We’re committed to providing them with even more convenient ways to bring Blue Apron into their kitchens each week,” said John Adler, Blue Apron’s senior vice president of physical product.

Blue Apron’s meals are prepared, single-serving portions that are ready to eat in about five minutes or less.

Along with New York, kits are also available for delivery in New Jersey, Virginia, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Leveraging DoorDash is Blue Apron’s latest move to reach audiences beyond its monthly subscription program and improve profits after reporting net losses in fiscal year 2022.

Most recently, the company partnered with Verizon to offer its products on Verizon +play, a single solution for customers to shop, manage and save on subscriptions. Blue Apron is the only meal-kit provider available on the platform. The company also joined Walmart and Amazon marketplaces in 2022.

Meanwhile, DoorDash continues to expand into non-restaurant markets, including a recent partnership with Aldi, one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country.
