Jokr, the New York-based instant grocery delivery startup, has partnered with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste and “save the planet, one delivery at a time.” The Denmark-based application connects customers to restaurants and stores with unsold food surplus, and is currently live in Jokr’s Williamsburg and Long Island City markets with plans to expand to other New York City locations in the coming months.

As part of the Jokr x TGTG partnership, customers can order a “surprise Jokr bag” and pick up food, groceries and pantry items that were about to go to waste at local hubs. With a retail value of $15, the bags are being sold at Jokr hubs for only $5.

Since the partnership went live, the companies have already saved more than 100 surprise bags and is estimated to reach a total of 15,834 bags by 2022, saving more than 87,000 pounds of food waste.
